Say plainly what this is: a wedding base, not a marriage hall

Skandanam Ecoville is a homestay. It does not have a kalyana mandapam, a stage or a banquet capacity, and you should not book it expecting one. What it does have is the thing most Tirupati weddings are actually short of — a private house, in the middle of town, that the family can take over for three or four days.

Couples marrying at Tirumala or at a Tirupati mandapam use it as the base the wedding runs from: the bride's family in one villa, the groom's in another, everyone's clothes and jewellery and gifts in rooms that lock, and a kitchen where coffee is ready at five in the morning.

Smaller ceremonies — an engagement, a nischitartham, a mehendi afternoon, a post-wedding lunch for close family — are hosted here directly, in the hall or the garden, by prior arrangement with the owner.

What the wedding party gets

The value here is logistical. A wedding runs on where people can sleep, change, eat and store things.

  • Whole villas, family by family

Complete 3 BHK and 4 BHK units let as single bookings, so each side of the family has its own house.

  • Rooms that lock

Bedrooms with wardrobes for the sarees, the jewellery and the gifts, which is not something a hall provides.

  • Bathrooms with hot water

An attached bathroom with a geyser per bedroom — the difference between a calm morning and a queue.

  • A kitchen running on your clock

Coffee at 4 am, tiffin between the muhurtham and the reception, and food for the elders who cannot eat outside.

  • Cabs booked in-house

Transport arranged from the property for the mandapam run, station pickups and the Tirumala trip.

  • Round-the-clock arrival

Relatives land on overnight trains and buses. Check-in runs 24 hours, subject to availability.

Ceremonies the property hosts itself

By arrangement with the owner, and always agreed on a call before you commit to a date.

  • Engagement and nischitartham

A close-family ceremony in the hall, with the garden for the guests and photographs.

  • Mehendi and haldi

An afternoon in the garden, where the mess stays outside and nobody is watching a hall clock.

  • Reception lunch for close family

A sit-down meal for the immediate circle rather than a full reception crowd.

  • Post-wedding gathering

The quiet day after, when both families eat together before travelling home.

Why the address matters for a Tirupati wedding

The homestay is in Bairagipatteda, opposite Padmavathi Park, on a quiet residential street in central Tirupati. Govindaraja Swamy Temple is nearby in town and Padmavathi Temple at Tiruchanoor is a short drive — which matters, because families visit Padmavathi Ammavari before or after the wedding as a matter of course.

Tirumala is up the hill and the property arranges the cabs, including the pre-dawn runs. Supermarkets and restaurants are within walking distance for the hundred small things a wedding forgets to buy.

Rooms and villas

Villas for the wedding party

Most wedding bookings take both villas — one per family — and hold them for three or four nights around the date. Ask early; wedding season and festival dates go first.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what guests ask before booking. Anything not covered here is best settled on a call.

Can we hold a wedding here?

Not a full wedding — this is a homestay, not a marriage hall. Families book it as the base their Tirupati wedding runs from, and host the smaller ceremonies — engagement, nischitartham, mehendi, a close-family lunch — here by prior arrangement.

Can we book the whole property for the wedding days?

Often yes, depending on the dates. Call +91 96767 07066 with your muhurtham date and the number of rooms you need. Wedding and festival dates are taken early in Tirupati.

How many guests can attend an engagement here?

The whole property accommodates 25–30 guests, so a close-family engagement fits comfortably. A larger attending crowd is a different question with no published number behind it — tell the owner your guest count on the phone and you will get a straight yes or no.

Can our cook use the kitchen?

Yes. The kitchen has a gas stove, cooker, refrigerator, water filter, microwave and full crockery, and wedding parties routinely bring their own cook or have a caterer serve from it.

Is there space to store wedding clothes and gifts safely?

Bedrooms have wardrobes and lock, the villa is let to your booking alone, and a caretaker stays on the property — which is why families prefer this to splitting across hotel rooms.

Can we arrange transport to the mandapam and to Tirumala?

Cabs are booked in-house, including early-morning Tirumala departures and station pickups. Share your schedule when you book so the vehicles are lined up.

Still unsure whether the property suits your plan? Call +919676707066 and ask — you will get a straight answer rather than a guess.
